: What will you work on?
Reporting to the Finance Controller, the Senior Finance Analyst will assist the Spin Master Accounting team in ensuring that accounting and reporting is accurate and timely for Spin Master Toys entities in Europe, including Spin Master International BV, Spin Master Toys UK Ltd, Rubiks Brand Ltd, Spin Master Ventures BV and Spin Master Europe Holdings BV.The candidate will be a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and reporting processes including supporting the internal and external audit information requests. The candidate will also support the accounting team and the businesses unit leaders to enable the understanding of local financial performance and monthly variance reporting at a cost center level. This will also include any forecast and budgeting processes.
How will you create impact?
1. Month end journal preparation for general ledger and balance sheet reviews (excluding accounts receivable, accounts payable and inter-company entries);
2. Prepare monthly management accounts and prepare and review analysis files to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial and management reporting;
3. Review month end PL market reporting and sales reports provided to the sales team and management team;
4. Hold regular cost center reviews with the business unit leaders, and work with them to maintain departmental operational costs within budget, especially marketing and sales accruals;
5. Assist with the budget/forecast submission, and preparation of the overhead budgets working with the business unit leaders;
6. Review the month end reports (GA overhead focus) and comment on performance against objectives;
7. Preparation of the bi-weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts, including variance analyses to previous submissions;
8. Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis, and review with the Finance Manager;
9. Preparation of Statutory Accounts and compliance with local GAAP;
10. Preparation of Cash Flow forecast on a regular basis;
11. Work closely with the Finance Team in the Shared Services function in Bratislava, other Finance Colleagues in Europe, and the Corporate Headquarters in Toronto to provide accurate information on a timely basis;
12. Identify and work with the finance manager and other finance team members to improve processes to deliver a more efficient and effective financial reporting and analysis;
13. Business partnering, supporting local management teams in understanding their financial data and performance, including the preparation of ad hoc reports for various members of the management teams;
14. Liaise with external tax advisers and auditors in regard to the annual statutory requirements;
15. Support the Finance Team in other areas, projects and initiatives as needed.
What are your skills and experience?
16. Part-qualified / Qualified accountant with minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in a multinational FMCG company.
17. Fluency in the English Language is essential
18. Ability to work across multiple European teams and functions;
19. An understanding of technical accounting of IFRS and UK GAAP;
20. In-depth expert knowledge of SAP (inc BI and BPC) to a high level is essential;
