CNWL have an exciting opportunity for a LAS (Trust Grade) Doctor to work on our General Adult Male Inpatient Ward at the Campbell Centre in Milton Keynes.
This is a full‑time Monday‑to‑Friday 9am‑5pm post. We are ideally looking for individuals with previous experience working within the NHS, ideally in psychiatry.

Main Duties of the Job
* Perform clinical assessment of individuals with mental health problems, including history taking, mental state examination and physical examination.
* Develop evaluation and formulation skills.
* Understand pharmacological management of common mental health problems.
* Develop interview and risk assessment skills.
* Develop a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and its application.
* Work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Working for Our Organisation
Diggory Division is responsible for the delivery of mental health, addictions and community services in Milton Keynes, as well as addictions services, sexual health/HIV and health and justice services in London and Surrey. Diggory has an ethos of fair, collaborative, inclusive leadership and holds senior leaders accountable while supporting staff.
The Campbell Centre in Milton Keynes is a 39‑bed acute inpatient mental health unit. It has two wards – Hazel Ward and Willow Ward, predominantly for working‑age adults who require hospital admission for mental health problems. The wards are staffed 24 hours a day with nurses, occupational therapists, doctors, psychologists, pharmacy staff, peer support workers and domestic staff.
Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Participate in daily ward rounds, enabling care plans to be monitored.
* Attend daily safety huddles and weekly bed management meetings to ensure patient flow and safe, effective care.
* Work in collaboration with patients, families and carers, focusing on the patient’s recovery.
* Facilitate timely discharge from hospital by working closely with the Crisis Resolution Team and community services.
* Carry out physical investigations, manage minor ailments and arrange appropriate referrals as required.
* Carry out full psychiatric assessments, risk management, and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with the MDT.
* Communicate appropriately with patients, relatives, GPs and other agencies.
* Be responsible for the prescription of appropriate pharmacological treatments.
* Be encouraged to participate in the management aspects of the ward.
* Perform any other duties relevant to patient care and service requirements as directed by the Consultant Psychiatrist.
* May be required to work in other localities in line with the needs of the service.
Person Specification
Qualifications / Registrations
* MB ChB or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration.
Experience (Essential Criteria)
* Exposure to various aspects of General Adult and Community Psychiatry, working as part of a multidisciplinary team; exposure to risk assessment and crisis care.
Experience (Desirable Criteria)
* On‑call experience in medical and psychiatry wards.
Knowledge (Essential Criteria)
* Core medical knowledge.
Knowledge (Desirable Criteria)
* Knowledge of psychiatric presentations.
