Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services Consultancy

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy delivering projects across a wide range of sectors. This role offers the chance to develop your technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, supporting senior engineers while contributing to high-quality electrical design solutions. You’ll work within a collaborative team environment, gaining exposure to both design and site-based activities.
The Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical design packages from concept through to completion. Working closely with senior engineers and multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll contribute to project success through technical delivery, coordination, and continuous development.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of project briefs and design criteria

Support electrical design across a variety of projects and sectors
*
Attend client and design team meetings where required
*
Contribute to the production of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
*
Produce or assist with services performance calculations
*
Support coordination of building services with wider design teams
*
Assist the Team Leader/Client Interface on project delivery
*
Work closely with the CAD team to produce accurate design outputs
*
Support BREEAM-related activities where required
*
Assist in reviewing contractor design proposals and performance
*
Develop site understanding through visits and progress monitoring
*
Work collaboratively within a team to deliver successful project outcomes
*
Engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD)
What We’re Looking For:

Experience in electrical design within a building services environment (or relevant graduate experience)

Understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
*
Ability to produce technical drawings and specifications
*
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
*
A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
*
Interest in sustainable design and BREEAM principles (desirable)
*
Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
