Head of Design Technology - Fully Qualified

£33,075 - £45,037 per annum
Job Duties:
* Lead and manage the Design Technology department
* Develop and implement the curriculum for design and technology subjects
* Provide guidance and support to teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons
* Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement
* Stay updated on educational trends and advancements in design technology
* Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities
* Oversee the department budget and resource allocation
* Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities
Required Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Degree in Design Technology or relevant field
* Proven experience in teaching design and technology subjects
* Demonstrated leadership skills in an educational setting
Education:
Degree in Design Technology or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in design and technology
Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong understanding of the national curriculum for design and technology
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to lead and motivate a team of educators
* Proficient in IT tools and software relevant to design technology
* Organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Postgraduate qualification in Education Leadership
* Experience in curriculum development and assessment
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a school environment, collaborating with students, teachers, and parents. Regular working hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments for school events and meetings.
