Associate Civil Engineer Location: Surrey (Hybrid working, 3 days in the office per week) Salary: £60k - £65k plus package benefits Emtech are working with a medium-sized, multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy who are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer to join their Surrey team. The company have around 60 team members working on a hybrid arrangement across Civil Engineering, Transport & Environmental. Projects span a wide range of sectors but they have a few large scale, ongoing residential projects they are looking for someone to take a lead role in delivering. Therefore previous experience on residential would be particularly beneficial. In this role, you will co-lead the Surrey-based Civil Engineering team, with a clear pathway to progress to Director level over the next few years. Key responsibilities: * Be responsible for and carry out technical reviews of reports, calculations, specifications and drawings. * Undertake regular reviews of project finance, invoicing and payments, providing feedback to the Project Partner. * Provide leadership and management of your team and multi-disciplinary project teams. * Ensure Designers' Risk Assessments are maintained in accordance with CDM regulations and all relevant guidance. * Take overall project responsibility, providing technical and commercial input to control risk exposure and feedback to the wider team. * Liaise with clients and co-professionals through meetings, conference calls and project coordination activities, contributing to information production and delivery programmes. * Act as line manager, training and mentoring graduate, project and senior engineers, including conducting annual reviews. * Prepare bids, tenders and fee proposals for small to large projects, and assist with bids for larger commissions. * Develop strong client and co-professional relationships through networking and business development activities. * Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the design of civil engineering solutions, particularly across highways and drainage. * Show significant experience in the application of relevant standards and guidance, including the latest versions of Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Sewers for Adoption. * Have experience using Infodrainage and AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferable). * Possess sound knowledge and experience of the CDM Regulations. * Demonstrate the ability to plan, manage and improve both personal and team effectiveness.
