Ventro Group provides fire safety installation, maintenance and surveying services. The group generates annual revenue of more than £50m and has recently obtained backing from KLAR Private Equity. We are seeking an ambitious Management Accountant to join our growing finance team.
Overview
To prepare, analyse and report accounting information, to provide managers with timely, accurate and relevant information, and to contribute to the organisation's financial management procedures to ensure that they are effective, efficient and compliant with appropriate financial statutory and regulatory requirements.
Principal duties:
* Responsible for the month-end process, including preparation of management accounts with variance analysis and commentaries
* Evaluating and reporting on monthly results, communicating financial information to various stakeholders, including management and non-finance staff
* Prepare/review month end tasks including accruals and prepayments etc
* Identifying, analysing and controlling costs
* Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
* Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
Other duties:
* Assisting other team members where required
* Balance sheet reconciliations, including banks
* Assisting with annual statutory audit information requests
* Intercompany reconciliations
* Resolving accounting issues as they arise
* Assisting with ad-hoc project planning, research and analysis as required
Skills and attributes:
* Good understanding of business and financial issues
* Excellent communication and collaborative skills
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team
* Ability to use own initiative and work proactively towards deadlines
* Ability to work with all levels of staff
Qualifications and experience:
* Qualified to AAT level or higher
* Thorough and practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and accounting software (Netsuite or similar)
