Overview
My client is currently seeking a Workshop Technician to join a busy workshop environment. This role would suit someone with hands-on workshop experience who is confident working with laser machinery and general fabrication equipment, and who can work accurately from technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate laser cutting machinery in line with production requirements
* Read and work from engineering drawings and cutting lists
* Operate general workshop machinery (e.g. saws, drills, presses, basic fabrication equipment)
* Carry out basic machine checks and routine maintenance
* Ensure components are produced to quality and tolerance requirements
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
* Support other workshop activities as required
Requirements
General workshop machinery experience is essential
Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery would be highly beneficial (training provided)
Hold an engineering qualification
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good attention to detail and quality standards
Understanding of workshop health & safety procedures
Forklift licence would be highly advantageous
Salary
£25,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
