Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join our global Network and Platform product marketing team, working with our Sage Network and Medium Platform teams.
The Senior Product Marketing Manager will craft a collection of API propositions that meet the needs of our partners, external developers, and internal developers. Using strategic thinking and customer analysis, they will deeply understand the developer personas we aim to attract and drive to our developer experience platform. The role requires providing market and competitive insights into pain points that our APIs, developer platforms, ecosystems, marketplaces, and app stores can address, as well as trends like intelligent developer technologies, and clarifying how we can succeed in this space. This will necessitate a strong understanding of monetisable technical solutions, customer segmentation strategies, and clarity on vertical industries to serve, along with crafting targeted propositions to support regional growth.
What’s in it for you?
You will be responsible for creating and delivering innovative value propositions, pricing strategies, and launching our Sage for Developer suite. You’ll own the development of propositions across our tech and innovation areas, significantly impacting how we position our API offerings to partners and the developer community. You will develop creative marketing strategies, positioning, and messaging driven by customer insights, aimed at capturing key buyers’ attention and achieving successful commercial results. Your role involves simplifying complex concepts into compelling stories, driving digital innovation, and shaping future applications built on our platform to add value for end users.
Location
Hybrid, 3 days per week from our Newcastle or Winnersh office.
Role Responsibilities
* Develop a deep understanding of the accounting developer landscape, including customer personas, competitor insights, and trends across fintech, Sage partners, and internal developers.
* Craft customer value propositions aligned with growth strategies, including defining pricing and packaging frameworks to differentiate our brand.
* Lead efforts to enhance the developer experience and launch the new Sage for Developers suite.
* Partner with regional teams to design and execute go-to-market strategies, including messaging, positioning, and channel approaches tailored to local markets.
* Monitor and optimize in-market propositions, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensuring seamless customer migration as needs evolve.
* Collaborate with Product Management to develop customer insights that shape product strategy and innovation.
* Represent Sage as a global thought leader, creating content and participating in industry events, media, and online platforms.
Skills, Know-How, and Experience
* Experience in a customer- and commercially-led Product Marketing role with a proven track record in developing and executing growth strategies across multifunctional teams.
* Experience launching developer platforms and marketplaces, disrupting markets with innovative ideas supported by market research and strategic planning.
* Strong knowledge of building API and data-driven propositions, understanding customer needs and challenges, and analyzing competitors.
* Familiarity with product marketing methodologies, including Human-Centered Design (HCD), marketing, and sales/channel collaboration.
* Creative thinker with a history of generating and executing innovative marketing ideas, crafting compelling positioning, and thought leadership content.
