Working Foreman / Supervisor – On-the-Tools Role
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Working Foreman/Supervisor to oversee daily operations while actively participating in site work. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who combines strong leadership with practical, on-the-tools experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity across our projects. Whilst much of our work is based in Essex, our current primary project is not, and so willingness to travel to our site in Purley is essential.
Responsibilities
* Lead by Example: Supervise and work alongside a team of tradespeople, providing guidance and support while actively contributing to daily tasks.
* Daily Coordination: Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and ensure smooth site operations.
* Quality & Compliance: Monitor work standards and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Site Inspections: Conduct regular checks to assess progress, identify issues, and implement timely solutions.
* Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members and management to support collaboration and transparency.
* Training & Development: Provide mentorship and training opportunities to help team members grow their skills and improve performance.
* Reporting: Prepare concise reports on project status, challenges encountered, and actions taken.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a hands-on supervisory role within the relevant industry.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Practical problem-solving abilities and confidence in making decisions under pressure.
* Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
* Must be willing and able to travel to our site in Purley.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £180.00-£280.00 per day
