With access to Kier's impressive £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, you’ll be part of exciting frameworks with national and local governments and a variety of other fascinating projects.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Drainage and Water Design Team Leader, you will:
* Lead a talented team in delivering high-quality, compliant, and sustainable drainage and water design solutions for transportation projects.
* Act as the technical and delivery lead for assigned work packages, ensuring designs meet programme, budget, and risk commitments.
* Collaborate closely with the Design Manager and wider Kier Design teams to enhance team capability and ensure consistent delivery.
* Foster strong relationships with internal and external clients, providing a reliable, value-driven service.
Your Day-to-Day
Your daily tasks will include:
* Leading the Transportation Drainage & Water team to deliver work packages on time and within budget.
* Implementing process improvements and encouraging technical innovation in highway drainage and flood risk management.
* Ensuring compliance with DMRB, LLFA, and local authority standards while maintaining robust project governance.
* Building and maintaining relationships with Local Authorities, LLFAs, and utilities to ensure clear communication and adherence to client processes.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Proven experience leading and developing design teams (7–14 members), with a strong ability to manage programmes, budgets, and risks.
* Experience managing clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and positive outcomes.
* Demonstrated delivery of high-quality, compliant highway drainage and flood risk solutions.
* Practical knowledge of DMRB, LLFA requirements, and local authority standards.
* A full driving license and a willingness to travel as required.
