THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a recent or soon-to-be Graduate with a passion for Immersive technology and real-time 3D development to join our dynamic team. Working closely with our Product Manager you will be delivering new and exciting product updates and refinements to Ruth Lee’s new cutting-edge Mixed Reality training software, whilst gaining hands-on experience with XR software development using the Unity Engine. You will be collaborating with Emergency Service and First Response professionals to develop new training solutions using Ruth Lee’s MR Platform and assisting with software based NPD within Ruth Lee and the wider Protect Medical Group.
SCOPE
• Support the development of AR/VR/MR applications using the Unity engine and C#
• Contribute to prototyping, development, and testing of interactive XR experiences.
• Gain hands-on experience with the latest XR SDKs (VIVE Wave, Meta SDK, OpenXR) Work with spatial interactions, including gesture input, physical trackers, and 3D UI.
• Assist in the integration and optimisation of 3D assets, animations, and sound into Unity scenes.
• Participate in regular team meetings to track team progress using Agile methodologies.
• Develop technical and creative problem solving skills in a real-time 3D environment.
• Build a foundation for future growth as a professional XR developer.
• Participate in wider NPD for Ruth Lee and the Protect Medical group with a particular focus on software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Game Development/Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. • Knowledge of the Unity real time development platform
• Knowledge of Agile project management (SCRUM, Kanban, Jira)
• Knowledge of the latest XR hardware and technology
• (Preferred) Experience with Unity XR SDK’s (VIVE Wave, Meta SDK, Open XR)
• (Preferred) Experience of 3D Asset creation to industry standard
• (Preferred) Multiplayer and Networking experience. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
• Proficiency in Unity and C# fundamentals (URP, object-oriented programming, scripting behaviours).
• Understanding of basic 3D concepts such as transforms, lighting, materials, and animation.
• Work quickly and efficiently to deliver on new features and refinements based on an established update roadmap • Log completed work daily within the structure of industry standard agile management methodologies
