I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent proposition. This is an exciting, newly created role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a strong reputation with clients, stable operations, and a track record of year-on-year growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and industry-leading clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position, remote, working from home, focusing on the UK/western European territory. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotechnology, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in this region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Achieving sales and business development targets and creating strategies for target markets.
2. Prospecting to establish a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFPs from potential clients, qualified for competitive advantage, timing, budget, and decision-makers.
3. Using Salesforce to track client activities, meetings, opportunities, and updates to inform management.
4. Leading and managing the sales process for generated and received leads.
5. Leading proposal development to ensure alignment with client expectations, including strategy, budget, language, and timelines.
6. Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
7. Providing input to marketing strategies to support business development.
8. Contributing to sales target and strategy development based on industry knowledge.
9. Implementing strategies to support sales, including resource securing for pre-sales activities.
10. Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions to support business development.
11. Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities based on travel schedules.
12. Attending conferences and trade shows to create business opportunities.
