Senior Project Manager

About the senior project manager The Senior Projects Manager within the Power Burners division will be responsible for all aspects of project execution to ensure quality products are delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities include confirming equipment selection, coordinating schedules for engineering, drafting, and manufacturing, maintaining P&L per project, and handling technical and commercial correspondence with customers.
Key responsibilities for senior project manager: Manage a wide range of projects from receipt of customer purchase order through commissioning, confirming scope of supply based on customer specifications and sales quotation.
Review contracts and confirm scope of supply based on customer specifications and sales quotation.
Confirm equipment selection and design, perform or coordinate required calculations and sketches to establish equipment design.
Travel to customer sites for meetings and/or equipment inspections as required.
Coordinate drafting for jobs, ensuring all required drawings are completed, review customer mark-up prints, and instruct drafting accordingly.
Establish and track the cost budget for jobs, working with Sales and cost specialists.
Maintain delivery schedules based on customer requirements and workloads, including coordination of document approvals, drafting, purchasing, manufacturing, shipping, and quality control. Pre-order materials as needed.
Maintain project flow through communication and support for all internal groups.
Inform Quality Control of customer/job specifications.
Coordinate all technical and commercial correspondence related to the project, including communication with customers, end users, sales reps, and outside consultants.
Instruct drafting and support staff on drawings to be sent to involved parties.
Inspect completed equipment, possibly requiring travel to international manufacturing facilities.
Notify sales and estimating departments of scope or design changes affecting pricing, and coordinate price revisions with customers.
Notify Order Entry of revisions to Shop Orders and ensure proper updates.
Notify Accounting when billings are to be sent.
Perform other duties as assigned, including test furnace duties, burner design, quotation/sales support, field sales trips, and design engineering.
Knowledge and experience required B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment; knowledge of the combustion industry is an advantage but not essential.
Strong technical skills, commercial understanding, and interpersonal skills with customers.
