GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work across schools in Wakefield, notably within the WF4 locality, offering support to learners with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with staff to deliver tailored support, help manage behaviour, and encourage confidence and independence in students. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils one-to-one or in small groups with social, emotional, and behavioural development. Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning strategies. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Encourage students to develop independence and self-regulation skills. Requirements: Experience working as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEMH needs. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning support. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
