Offer description

Location: Any location inside South Swindon Parish as required for the role.

Hours: This is a full-time role set at 37 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave entitlement plus 2 Statutory days

Line Manager: Community Development Officer

Vehicle: This role requires a vehicle for some duties.

About

South Swindon Parish Council is an innovative and progressive Parish Council in Swindon serving over 42,000 residents. It is responsible for delivering front-line community services that residents value. The services and facilities the Parish Council manages include:

* Delivering Grounds Maintenance and Street - Cleaning services
* Managing 14 allotment sites
* Maintaining 21 play areas
* Managing 3 heritage parks - Town Gardens, Queen’s Park and GWR Park
* Managing Broadgreen Community Centre, Old Town Library and Badbury Park Library
* Running a Youth and Events Service.

All staff directly employed by the Parish Council will receive:

* Annual leave allowance- 25 days holiday plus 2 Staff Days to be taken at the Council’s discretion.
* Eligibility to join the Wiltshire Pension Fund.
* An annual appraisal
* Training and continuous development


The role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated individual to lead comprehensive community engagement, support the Neighbourhood Board, and coordinate partnership working, in order to ensure the residents of Walcot East and Park North understand the Pride in Place Programme and can shape decisions.

South Swindon Parish Council is supporting the Pride in Place Programme for Walcot East & Park North. Pride in Place is a government-funded initiative providing up to £20million for deprived communities over 10 years. The successful candidate will work alongside the Community Development team and wider Pride in Place staff to ensure the programme reflects the priorities and aspirations of local residents.
