The role: With a full copy of the Job Spec available on request, the Software Engineer will: Design and implement control software for bespoke industrial systems, driving performance, reliability, and innovation across automation platforms. Report to the Electrical Engineering Manager, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate PLCs into complex control architectures, including Telematics and HMI interfaces. Take ownership of system programming, testing, and optimizationensuring Ground Support Equipment (GSE) meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The person: Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years experience within Tier 1 or OEM sectors (on highway or off highway) within system engineering or software development. Ability to design and implement complex control architectures involving multiple PLCs, actuators and sensors. Knowledge of industry standards, such as IEC 61131-3, for PLC programming. Experience in software programming with CODESYS Experience with real-time system debugging, signal processing and control loop tuning. Able to adhere to company processes relating to internal and external procedures and sign-off requirements. Strong desire to learn from working on differing system architectures and coding techniques. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Ability to work well independently and in a team.
