Teacher of Geography and Social Sciences

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspirational Teacher of Geography and Social Sciences to join our successful and supportive Humanities department at our school in Sevenoaks.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to teach Geography alongside Social Science subjects such as Sociology, Psychology, or Criminology. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop curiosity about the world, critical thinking skills, and an understanding of contemporary global and social issues.
The Role
The successful applicant will:
* Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Teach Social Sciences at Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5, depending on experience and specialism
* Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons
* Assess, monitor, and support student progress to achieve excellent outcomes
* Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Participate fully in the wider life of the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Geography, Social Sciences, or a related subject
* Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for both Geography and Social Sciences
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
