Social Workers play a crucial part in improving mental health outcomes for individuals, through understanding the social detriments of mental health and using a human rights approach. This requires advanced relationship-based skills focused on personalisation and strength-based working, to support people to make positive, self-directed change. The successful candidate will work as a social worker in the multi-disciplinary Perinatal Community Mental Health Team. This involves supporting a caseload of individuals’ who are experiencing social barriers, such as housing, domestic violence and isolation, to recovery by applying social work and psychoeducation interventions and representing the social work and social perspective in the team. Further training and supervision is available to support your growth in the role. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010. Advert Due to significant investment as part of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions, we are delighted to offer another Social Worker post within the Nottinghamshire Perinatal Mental Health Services. Nottinghamshire Perinatal Community Mental Health Team is a multidisciplinary and well-established service providing a range of tailored approaches to meet the mental health needs of women and their families in the perinatal period. We are co-located on the Hopewood site with Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services. The Team provides a service to the City and County of Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw with clinics located across this geography. The team provides care across the whole region of Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw. Working for our organisation TeamNottsHC comprises over 11,000 dedicated colleagues who MakeADifference every day. The Trust is committed to reducing its carbon emissions, with a specialised Energy and Environmental team working to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, enhance our environmental performance, and achieve our net-zero commitment Detailed job description and main responsibilities To have a specific field of interest and knowledge around the wellbeing and functioning of families, with consideration to areas such as domestic violence. To provide a defined level of assessment and access to Social Work interventions for a diverse patient group and their families, who present with significant mental health problems/disorders. To provide realistic, timely and occasionally intensive Social Work interventions to patients within a community setting. To demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals. To build relationships and liaise with statutory and third sector organisations that could support the families we work with towards recovery - such as Women's Aid and Framework. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
