Test Engineer
Job location: Remote within the UK (option to work from HQ in Waterbeach, Cambridge, UK under Hybrid Working Policy)

1Spatial's delivery teams are responsible for delivering highly specialised and bespoke GIS solutions for our customers. We provide software and solutions to solve complex problems whilst keeping location and asset data current, complete and consistent. These allow the customers to gain the level of confidence and unlock the potential of the data they depend on. As a tester working with those teams, you will help ensure the quality and consistency of the solutions by employing automated, manual, component, integration and performance testing techniques to test both 1Spatial technology and partner applications.
As a tester in 1Spatial, you will thrive within agile cross-functional teams and ensure the team builds quality while continuously improving. You are passionate about continuous improvement and are confident collaborating with internal teams as well as customers. You are a hands‑on tester working cross‑team to develop and improve test automation infrastructure and build testing processes, both manual or automated.
Responsibilities
* Participate proactively in requirement analysis and sprint ceremonies internally and externally.
* Configure test environments.
* Review test results.
* Deliver manual testing and contribute to the development of automated tests.
* Report for stories as part of a continuous integration environment.
* Ensure satisfactory sign‑off of releases, often for external use.
Required Skills and Experience
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven knowledge of fundamental concepts of software testing.
* Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills.
* Enthusiasm for both manual and automated testing.
* Experience using object‑oriented languages: C#, Java, Python.
* Experience with virtual machines.
* Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as NUnit, Junit, Selenium and RestAssured.
* Experience with database technologies and scripting to create and validate data.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience in GIS tools and systems such as QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online.
* Experience in data‑centric testing and ETL processes.
* Knowledge of CI/CD configuration.
