Senior Civil EngineerLocation: DerbySalary: CompetitiveOverviewOur client is an established civil and structural engineering consultancy has an immediate requirement for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its experienced civil engineering design team in Derby. The role offers exposure to a wide range of projects across multiple sectors and provides structured support towards chartership.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and drafting of SuDS schemes, private external works, and Section 38 and Section 104 works for adoptionCivil engineering design and drafting across residential, industrial, and commercial sectorsDelivery of projects ranging from small housing schemes to multi-storey developments, with construction values between £250,000 and £30 millionContribution to projects delivered to BIM Level 2Use of industry-standard software including MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil3D, and PDS, with final drawings produced in AutoCADDeputising for the team leader as required, including planning and organisation of tasks, people, and resources to ensure timely project delivery in line with current design guidelinesSkills & ExperienceEssential:Demonstrable experience using AutoCAD for technical drawing (to be assessed at interview)Degree-level qualification in Civil EngineeringLogical and analytical approach to problem-solvingExperience using Civil3D or PDS, and InfoDrainage or MicroDrainageKnowledge of the construction industry, relevant design standards, and basic health and safetyStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperienceSuitable for a Civil Engineer with 3-5 years' post-graduate experienceExperience working collaboratively within a civil engineering design teamProven ability to manage and deliver design work to required technical standardsStrong client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and in writingProfessional DevelopmentOn-the-job training provided to support continued technical developmentClose collaboration with senior engineers and structured mentorship towards ICE chartershipEducation & Additional SkillsStrong background in English and MathematicsFully computer literate, with competency in Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityTPBN1_UKTJ
