Main Purpose of the Role
The Estimator will contribute to sales activities within the estimating team at Mumford & Wood Ltd., supporting the Sales team. This support will ensure that accurate estimates are issued within the given timescales and that an excellent standard of service is provided and maintained.
Role Responsibilities
· Establish customer requirements from drawings and specifications.
· To produce competitive, accurate and detailed estimates using our estimating and production systems, liaising with architects, designers, builders, developers and contractors.
· To capture contract specifications, ensure technical and commercial compliance, and provide clearly identified prices and specifications to the Sales team.
· To ensure the Estimating function operates effectively and that its activities are aligned with the departmental and company objectives.
· To manage workload, enabling all enquiries to be dealt with to industry-leading timescales and satisfaction levels without compromising accuracy.
· To give expert advice to customers and promote the products and services Mumford & Wood can offer.
· To promote the process of continuous improvement within the business.
· Sustain a positive team environment by displaying high levels of motivation and excellent team spirit.
· Participate in and contribute to internal team meetings and external client meetings.
· Promote effective communication across all levels of the business functions.
· Maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and professionals to create further business opportunities.
Knowledge & Skills
· Attention to detail in analysing drawings and specification documents.
· Previous face-to-face and telephone customer service experience.
· Previous experience in the building industry would be advantageous. Knowledge of joinery and fenestration solutions would be a distinct advantage.
· Highly numerate with a well-developed ability to manipulate numerical information accurately.
· Evidence of maintaining a professional, consistent and fair approach.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
· Effective communication skills.
· Ability to work well both in a team and independently, using your initiative.
· Highly proficient in the use of IT software and systems, i.e., Microsoft Office.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
