Payroll & People Services Partner
Location: Castleford | Salary: Up to £40,000 | Permanent
Are you a payroll expert looking to make an impact in a busy retail environment? Our client is seeking a hands-on Payroll & People Services Partner to manage end-to-end payroll, support HR initiatives, and help drive process improvements.
What Youll Do
* Process UK and Ireland payroll accurately, including starters, leavers, maternity pay, sick pay, CIS, and ad-hoc adjustments.
* Ensure compliance with PAYE, NIC, pensions, Auto Enrolment, and HMRC regulations.
* Handle payroll queries confidently, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support audits and year-end processes.
* Support HR initiatives, including employee benefits, annual salary reviews, workforce planning, and employee relations.
* Work with Workday and payroll systems, assist with reporting, audits, and process improvement projects.
What Were Looking For
1. Minimum 5 years UK payroll experience (certified or by experience).
2. Hands-on experience with high-volume, complex payroll, including retail shift patterns and overtime.
3. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and attention to numerical detail.
4. Knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
