Electrical Supervisor – Gov Facility Services Ltd
Location: HMP High Down
Employment type: Full Time – Permanent (39 hrs per week)
Salary: £46,775.42 + £2,500 allowances per year plus 5% basic salary for shift and weekend working
Responsibilities
* Work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from diverse disciplines to maintain and supervise electrical systems within the prison environment.
* Manage and oversee day‑to‑day electrical operations ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability.
* Supervise staff, assign tasks, provide training, and monitor performance.
* Coordinate with other maintenance teams (plumbing, carpentry, etc.) to support facility functions.
* Respond to emergency situations and maintain records of incidents.
Qualifications
* Minimum five years' experience as an electrician or equivalent.
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical, building services.
* Experience supervising staff.
* Full driving licence, preferably with D1 endorsement.
* Electrical installation qualifications – C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
* Certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements for Electrical Installations, 18th Edition.
* Good health & safety knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
