Mobile Field Service Engineer – Heavy Goods Vehicle About the Role ASL Technical is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer of specialist heavy goods vehicles and equipment. We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Mobile Field Service Engineer to join their UK Service team. You’ll play a critical role in delivering top-tier servicing and repairs, providing outstanding support to customers across your region. This is a field-based position involving travel to customer sites, with occasional overnight stays and participation in a rota-based 24/7 callout system. Key Responsibilities Carry out efficient, high-quality repairs and servicing of products at customer locations. Communicate clearly and politely with customers, keeping them informed throughout the process. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards for your van, tools, and equipment. Complete all service documentation and timesheets accurately and on time. Maintain accurate stock records for parts and ensure correct usage reporting. Promote service and parts offerings when appropriate. Follow health & safety protocols and represent the brand professionally at all times. Work independently under your own initiative while remaining a team player. Provide technical feedback and market intelligence to support product development. What We're Looking For Proven experience in a Field Service Engineering role – ideally within plant, commercial vehicle, or municipal equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. Confident working on hydraulics, pneumatics, and fault diagnostics. Full UK driving licence (essential). Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight. Flexibility to take part in a callout or late-shift rota.
