Financial Accountant Role - Leading FMCG Group
Permanent, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. You will report to the Financial Controller and support financial controls, reporting, compliance, and act as a team leader to finance team members.
Your key duties
* Balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting including PSA, P11D's, fixed asset accounting, maintenance & reporting.
* Month‑end journals, accruals, prepayments, with related reconciliations.
* Year‑end accounts preparation & annual audit queries, producing financial analysis & management reports.
* National statistics office forms and assistance in implementation of new accounting rules/processes.
* Act as team leader to Assistant Accountants & Purchase Ledger Officer, mentoring & developing when required with support of the Financial Controller.
* Involved in ad‑hoc projects & duties for Senior Management as the business continues to grow.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in a similar position.
* ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or part‑qualified / finalists considered.
* Excellent MS Excel skills, trained in a range of financial systems.
* Proactive & hands‑on working approach, strong communication skills.
* Strong problem solving ability.
* Broad accounting knowledge including financial accounting processes, month‑end, ledger, treasury processes.
* Collaborative working style, interest in supporting development of other finance team members.
* Experience with Sage 200 & the FMCG sector advantageous but not essential.
