Overview
Locum Social Worker - Duty & Short Term Team within Walsall UK, earning £30.57 Hourly. This 3-month locum assignment will have you stepping into a pivotal role within the Duty and Assessment team. You will provide immediate support and intervention for children and families in need, respond to referrals, and help safeguard the wellbeing of at-risk children. The role offers full-time hours with remote work and a requirement to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the service
* Respond swiftly to new referrals and perform initial assessments and home visits
* Develop and implement tailored plans to support children and families, ensuring a child-focused approach
* Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners to deliver effective safeguarding and intervention services
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
* Present cases in Child Protection Conferences and court proceedings as needed
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
* Proven experience working in Duty and Assessment or Children\'s Services teams
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
* Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload
* Previous experience working within a local authority setting
* Strong organisational and time management skills
Working arrangements
Remote work with on-site presence for at least 3 days per week in the office, integrated into a supportive duty team.
