This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances and hours.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
The DDAT Benefits Realisation Lead is responsible for developing the Benefits Realisation strategy across Surrey and Sussex Police across the various DDaT Programme & Project workstreams and in alignment with the Change Delivery Benefits Framework.
The post holder will work with stakeholders to identify and track benefits for all projects, supporting business change and ensuring we provide value for money on our investments.
Key Accountabilities:
* To research, write and own the Benefits Realisation Strategy and Plan for Surrey and Sussex Police in alignment with the Change Delivery Benefits Framework.
* Identify, develop and plan for Benefits Realisation and efficiency savings through engagement with key stakeholders.
* Responsible for developing and managing benefits profiles, in line with the Benefits Realisation Strategy.
* Monitor and track the delivery of benefits by identifying relevant quantitative data sources, facilitating the capture of qualitative data and analysing and interpreting this data.
* Monitor and assess the progress of business cases, taking into account the original identified benefits and measuring them against the actual benefits achieved by the newly installed capabilities.
* Track delivery of Benefits Realisation and report risks to their delivery to the relevant Programme Managers and the Transformation Board if applicable, other appropriate governance boards and key stakeholders.
* Responsible for the development of tools and processes to enable effective benefit tracking and integration with programmes in the wider organisational portfolio.
* Contribute Benefits Realisation data and information for use as part of the Communication Plan.
* Attend and / or Facilitate meetings to discuss issues regarding Benefits Realisation and to take any action when required
* Support and look for the best practice on Benefits Realisation and Continuous Improvement.
* Support Business Change and Engagement Lead with communications internally and externally building strong links with the change champions network.
* May be required to work outside normal working hours and travel around and outside of the force area.
* Perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility
Skills & Experience
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Knowledge and experience of project management lifecycle (waterfall/ agile)
* Experience in the identification, planning, tracking and realisation of business benefits
* The ability to build and manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including those at a senior level
* The ability to work collaboratively with others and within a team
* The ability to work autonomously to deadlines and meet defined KPIs
* Extensive experience of working within a problem-solving environment
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to assimilate complex information and clearly communicate the relevant points, correctly pitched to varying levels of understand and knowledge
* Experience in competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as MS Project a must
Desirable skills:
* Foundation certificate in Managing Benefits
* Practitioner certificate in Managing Benefits
* Educated to Degree Level
* Experience of policing would be highly desirable
* Experience in Project / Programme Delivery
* Experience in Portfolio Management
* Experience of working on a technology Programme
