We are looking for a Product Developer responsible for managing the end-to-end product development process from concept through to production handover. Working closely with design, merchandising, and sales teams, this role ensures that all products meet brand standards for design, quality, cost, and delivery.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing textile-based and soft accessories, an understanding of materials and construction, and strong communication skills to collaborate with global vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Manage the seasonal product development process for slippers, socks, hats, scarves, gloves, and other soft accessories.
•Translate design concepts into detailed technical specifications, materials lists, and construction requirements.
•Build and update tech packs with accurate product details, artwork placement, trims, and packaging.
•Collaborate with design to maintain brand identity and ensure all samples reflect creative intent.
•Work directly with overseas factories on sampling, material sourcing, and pricing.
•Negotiate costs, minimums, and lead times in line with margin targets and business needs.
•Source yarns, knits, textiles, linings, and soft materials suitable for seasonal collections.
•Review and comment on prototypes & pre-production samples to ensure quality, fit, and compliance.
•Partner with QA teams to resolve technical or material issues and maintain consistent quality standards.
•Manage seasonal critical paths to ensure on-time sample approvals and production readiness.
•Track product costs, samples, and approvals across multiple categories.
•Support margin targets through efficient design-to-cost processes and material optimisation.
•Work closely with design, merchandising, planning, and production teams throughout the development cycle.
•Support seasonal line reviews and product presentations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties as may be assigned by your manager from time to time, consistent with the experience normally expected for a position at this level.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•3 years of experience in product development, ideally within slippers, socks, hosiery, or soft accessories.
•Understanding of the need to comply with company procedure regarding confidentiality and security of information.
•Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
•Good working knowledge of MS Office: Word and Excel.
•Strong eye for detail and ability to manage multiple styles across categories.
•Ability to handle and effectively prioritise a wide variety of tasks.
•Ability to work unsupervised in an accurate, methodical and organised manner with attention to detail.
•Flexibility to work to deadlines, cope under pressure and willing to assist on all departments as required.
