About The Buildings Unit (BLD)
The Buildings Unit has a major presence in Mott MacDonald’s regional offices in the UK and mainland Europe. It provides a wide range of diverse and transferable cross‑sector skills across five key sectors: Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. It also delivers local services to customers and provides technical leadership to the group.
Role Overview
Key responsibilities and duties include:
* Leadership – lead the established security team and develop increased security service delivery to meet growing demand.
* Security Compliance – develop internal processes to assess and improve levels of compliance against internal and client security obligations.
* Security Service Delivery – coordinate disparate security expertise into a coherent practice that can share knowledge and develop services to improve MML’s competitive advantage and enable security to become an enabler in the Defence and Security market.
* Security Practice Alignment – manage Security SMEs, applying Secure by Design, government security standards, MOD, NATO and DOD Defence Standards.
* Business Development – expand scope, influence customers and clients to broaden security service scope.
* Global Collaboration – interface with other regions and understand impact on different security, commercial and trade controls compliance requirements.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Leadership – experience leading a security team in a global company supporting Defence clients.
* Transformation and Growth – experience driving transformational change during periods of growth.
* Service Delivery – experience in a client‑facing role cohering and communicating disparate security practice areas into a managed service.
* Risk Review and Compliance – experience monitoring, mitigating and reporting security risks internally to senior executives and board‑level contacts.
Desirable
* Organisational Transformation – experience transforming and leading organisational changes.
* Controls and Risk Reporting – experience instigating reporting and meeting rhythms that drive continuous improvements to risk reporting and compliance.
* Security as a Service – experience developing security-as-a‑service and deploying it as a business‑supporting capability.
* Security Function / Practice Development – experience professionalising structures and formalising professional development pathways.
Offers are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.
