1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Raynes Park, Merton

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
We are working with a welcoming and well-resourced Special Educational Needs (SEN) School based in Raynes Park, Merton, who are seeking a committed and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with complex learning needs and Autism (ASD).
The Role:
Provide 1:1 support to a student with Autism and complex learning needs
Support learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
Help to implement and adapt bespoke learning strategies tailored to the pupil's EHCP
Encourage and facilitate communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
Promote independence, inclusion, and a positive learning environment
Build a trusting and consistent relationship with the student to support long-term development
The School:
A specialist school for students aged 9-16 with Autism and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, speech, language and communication difficulties, learning delay, and trauma
The school provides a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment, focusing on therapeutic and academic development
Staff work collaboratively to deliver a bespoke curriculum that prepares students for life beyond school
The school building has been specially adapted to support the unique needs of its learners
The team is supportive, experienced, and passionate about helping every student thrive
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and complex needs is highly desirable
Ability to commit to 5 days per week from September
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with SEND
Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
