Overview
This Fixed Term Secondment (Maternity Leave Cover) role joins the Paediatric Oncology Outreach Nurse Specialist Team at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. You will provide specialist, high‑quality care and emotional support for children and young people with malignant conditions under the Sheffield Principal Treatment Centre for Haematology and Oncology.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload, organising and delivering specialist nursing expertise as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide post‑chemotherapy community care, administer medication including chemotherapy and biological therapies, and deliver advanced symptom control at end of life.
* Give support to families, visit schools to aid children’s return to education and support children and young people receiving palliative care at home.
* Participate in weekend work, a 24‑hour on‑call rota, and support young people receiving palliative care at home.
Qualifications
* Registered Childrens Nurse with NMC registration and substantial recent post‑registration experience in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology.
* Current driving licence.
