Cover Supervisor Opportunity at a Secondary School in Exeter
A Secondary School in Exeter is currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to join their team for flexible cover. The position is ideally suited for someone available this term, offering both full-time and part-time opportunities from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM. The specific days may vary, but consistent work is available for the right candidate.
The school regularly requires Cover Supervisors to oversee various classes across KS3 and KS4. While class teachers will provide the cover work, a good understanding of most subjects will be beneficial.
We are looking for flexible Cover Supervisors who are comfortable managing different classes. You should be confident teaching across KS3 and KS4 and able to deliver pre-planned lessons with ease. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory; however, extensive experience working in schools is preferred. A degree in a specific subject, such as Maths, would be advantageous.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor
1. Supervise students actively, providing clear instructions to keep them on task and addressing queries
2. Engage effectively with students to maintain their interest during cover lessons
3. Manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies, promoting positive conduct
4. Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills, with flexibility in a busy school environment
5. Utilise good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills to support all students
6. Collaborate with staff to optimise student learning
7. Report to teachers as required
