The Role Reporting to the Residential Estimating Team Leader the Residential Estimator is responsible for interpreting our customers ventilation needs using Nuaire bespoke REVIT software to provide accurate project specific drawings incorporating Nuaire product solutions and providing technical guidance on product and systems queries. Overseeing allocated projects from design to installation and working closely with external sales and internal colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of projects. The role necessitates an eye for detail and a desire to develop technically to become the ‘go-to’ expert. Working hours: Monday - Friday. Working style: On-site. Responsibilities Prepare and issue accurate and complete design specifications for Nuaire customers to agreed deadlines. Take ownership managing the design specifications during project lifecycle, updating records accurately to aid communication with internal colleagues and customers. Make sure that work produced matches the customer requirements for specification, performance, pricing and practical site installation. Manage, update, and take ownership of project folders, ensuring project history and communications are captured. Ensure that all key information at enquiry stage is obtained to offer the best suitable solution to the client for their project/application requirements, with a focus on always providing compliant and competitive solutions. Confidently discuss information of a technical nature with customers to ensure a comprehensive and suitable design is provided to maximise our ability to secure the order whilst identifying further potential opportunities for up-selling as appropriate. Ensure that designs produced are compliant with current legislation/regulations and industry best practice, as outlined under Building Regulations Parts L&F. Contribute to team continuous improvement initiatives that support process, performance, and customer service development. Support customers and colleagues in the timely resolution of technical enquiries, escalating queries that cannot be resolved through day to day means. Provide excellent customer service to colleagues and customers alike. Provide technical support to the external sales teams and facilitate project progression by attending project meetings on site or via Teams. Requirements (Knowledge and Experience): Essential: Good working knowledge and experience of the HVAC/Building Services sector working in a similar technical role, ideally with a residential market focus. Good commercial awareness and a strong understanding of engineering, contractual principles, and methods of working. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an excellent attention to detail. A good level of numeracy skills. Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills. Positive ‘can-do’ demeanour with a desire to continually develop and progress. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office software e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc. and willing to learn bespoke estimation systems. Desirable: A mechanical/ electrical/ building services engineering qualification e.g., HNC or equivalent. A strong technical mechanical or electrical background. Previous experience in the ventilation, construction or building services industry. Willingness to occasionally travel and work away from home for short durations to support the external sales teams.
