Job Overview
Bolton NHS Talking Therapies Service is currently seeking a qualified CBT Therapist to join our supportive team. The role involves delivering high quality CBT in both face‑to‑face and remote appointments, and developing through supervision, CPD and training opportunities to support career progression.
Main Duties
* Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes across complex problems.
* Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment and treatment of clients in line with service standards.
* Provide day supervision to other staff involved in the provision of psychological services.
Job Responsibilities
* Deliver CBT and other evidence‑based interventions within a stepped‑care model.
* Meet activity and service targets and manage own caseload and time.
* Document and report clearly to referrers and maintain routine outcome monitoring.
* Participate in teaching and liaison with other professional groups.
Person Specification
Education
* Qualification from a High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or equivalent.
* Significant experience as a psychological therapy practitioner.
* Training in an additional therapeutic modality.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in mental health services.
* Experience in primary‑care settings treating anxiety and depression.
* Ability to meet agreed activity targets.
* Strong written communication skills.
* Experience with routine outcome monitoring and writing reports and letters.
* Experience teaching and liaising with other professional groups.
Knowledge
* Understanding of evidence‑based psychological therapies and their limitations.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
* Knowledge of medication for anxiety, depression and other common mental health problems.
Skills & Abilities
* Full range of CBT competencies per the competence framework (Roth and Pilling 2007).
* Strong communication skills to convey complex information orally and in writing.
* Training in assessing risk and carrying out risk assessments within scope.
* Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with clients.
* Accreditation with a professional psychological therapy organisation.

Salary
£49,387 to £56,515 per annum, pro rata.

Permanent.
