GSK has ambitious environmental sustainability goals to achieve a net zero impact on climate and a net positive impact on nature by 2030 across our entire end-to-end value chain. This position is part of the Ecodesign team and acts as custodian of GSK’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Standard and GSK’s Product Footprinting Tool (PFT).
The role reports to the Director of Life Cycle Assessment to support the delivery of all technical aspects of the sustainability strategy for legacy, next-generation, and new products within the GSC (Global Supply Chain) product portfolio. You will build partnerships across matrix teams, supporting GSK’s Sustainability and Ecodesign teams to ensure the necessary technical sustainability capabilities are in place to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements. You will act as a recognized expert in Ecodesign implementation across global operations, with a delivery mindset and strong communication skills to engage employees worldwide.
Responsibilities:
1. Act as a recognized expert in LCAs, performing product Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) or Carbon Footprints, sourcing data from stakeholders, and presenting results engagingly.
2. Be a product footprint expert, identifying hotspots, reducing footprints, and updating GSK’s carbon reduction plans towards 2030.
3. Create and maintain carbon reduction pathways, drive carbon and waste reduction, and support training and capability building within GSC.
4. Maintain GSC’s footprints, LCA standards, and governance systems; analyze complex data, develop models, and manage related programs.
5. Build a repository of LCAs, standards, and best practices to promote stakeholder engagement and consistency.
6. Develop systems and reports to improve data access and outcomes.
Location:
Preferably based at Ware, Barnard Castle, or GSK HQ in the UK; flexible for other global GSK sites for high-caliber candidates.
About You:
Motivated with a passion for sustainability and lifecycle assessment. Experience in LCA or Carbon Footprints is advantageous but not essential. You should be curious, analytical, innovative, educated to degree level in a relevant field, and possess excellent communication skills. A proactive, collaborative approach that promotes inclusivity and continuous improvement is essential.

Basic Qualifications:
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, Environmental Science, Environment Management, Business, or related fields.
* Excellent report writing skills and experience with data integration.
* Ability to influence positive sustainability change at senior levels.
* Experience or knowledge of pharmaceutical products is preferred but not essential.
