Our in-house sales and design teams work with customers to create bespoke play areas before our manufacturing team brings the vision to life. Each play area is then carefully delivered to site and installed to comply with the regulations.
About the Role
We're in an exciting period of growth and looking for a sewing operative to join our enthusiastic and fun team. Reporting to the Sewing Team Leader, you will sew a variety of items to create amazing soft play products. Working with an experienced team, you will be given support to expand your skills to understand our 2D and 3D designs and use our CNC machinery.
Working Hours
Fri-Sun 06:30-17:00 (We also have Mon-Thu 06:30-17:00 working pattern available)
What you'll do:
* Sew materials to produce excellent soft play products, in line with project deadlines
* Learn each build station, including sewing, web deck, and CNC machine, to produce a consistent, high-quality finish
* Conduct quality control on products and materials to ensure they meet the required standards
* Participate in regular stock takes, counting and recording goods stored over several locations and units (may occasionally occur on a Saturday – you will receive paid overtime or time off in lieu)
* Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the team and wider business
* Positively contribute to The Play Company's culture, through influence and engagement with others
What you'll need:
Essentials:
Proven experience working in a similar role
Competent in using a walking foot sewing machine and capable of learning to operate other machines and equipment to produce quality goods
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Health & Safety awareness, with a willingness to wear PPE
Ability to plan, prioritise, and effectively manage your workload
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated
Health & Safety, and manual handling awareness
Full clean driving licence
