and Responsibilities
TT Electronics, Manchester, we're seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Operations to lead and optimise all operational activity across the site. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for operational performance, customer delivery, and continuous improvement.
You'll ensure that all site operations are effectively planned, organised, and controlled to consistently meet (and exceed) business targets, spanning Production, Aftermarket, Test, Customer Account Management, and Supply Chain, requiring strong cross-functional leadership and commercial awareness.
A critical focus of this role will be the establishment and ongoing optimisation of a robust SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process, aligning demand planning, capacity management, and material availability across all operational processes.
You'll also champion Lean manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence, improve quality, increase efficiency, and deliver predictable, sustainable performance.
This is a hands-on, onsite role, based at our Rochdale facility.
Key responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
1. Lead and develop a high-performing, multi-functional operations team.
2. Ensure business goals, operational standards, and performance expectations are clearly communicated and embedded at all levels.
SIOP & Strategic Planning
3. Design, implement, and continuously improve a structured SIOP process.
4. Align customer demand forecasts with operational capacity, supply chain capability, and financial planning.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
5. Establish and monitor KPIs across all operational areas, including output, service levels, yield, quality, inventory, safety, compliance, and cost performance.
6. Lead the deployment of Lean methodologies to improve flow, reduce waste and variability, and optimise productivity.
7. Partner with the Quality function to embed a sustainable Continuous Improvement (CI) culture, ensuring measurable operational gains.
Production & Delivery
8. Direct production activities to ensure products are delivered on time, to the required quality standards, and within agreed cost parameters.
9. Balance service, cost, and inventory to achieve optimal operational performance.
Financial & Commercial Accountability
10. Own and manage operational budgets, driving cost control and profitability.
11. Ensure appropriate resourcing and infrastructure are in place to meet strategic and operational objectives.
Stakeholder Management
12. Build strong internal relationships across site functions and the wider business.
13. Maintain effective external partnerships with customers and suppliers to ensure alignment and service excellence.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
We’re looking for a strategically minded and decisive operations leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and delivers measurable results.
You'll bring:
14. Senior operational leadership experience within manufacturing (Aerospace & Defence advantageous but not essential).
15. A proven track record of establishing and leading an effective SIOP process in a complex setting.
16. Hands-on experience deploying Lean and Continuous Improvement frameworks that drive tangible performance gains.
17. Strong cross-functional integration across Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Finance to ensure reliable delivery and optimised inventory.
18. Advanced use of ERP/MRP systems and operational analytics to support capacity planning and informed decision-making.
19. The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution, delivering performance, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
