Community Action Association of Pennsylvania is excited to announce an opportunity to work at one of our 43 Community Action Member Agencies. The Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC), established in 1979, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Delaware County for nearly 45 years.

We employ over 150 staff members providing social services, property management, and construction management to thousands annually. Our senior management team is composed of experienced, committed employees working collaboratively to deliver programs aligned with our mission.


Position Summary:

This role involves expanding existing or identifying new revenue-generating economic development opportunities and enhancing current social service programs. It requires collaboration with local government officials and navigating political landscapes sensitively.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Oversee operations of Finance, Human Resources, IT, Real Estate, Maintenance, and Fleet Management teams.
* Develop and implement economic development initiatives and explore new funding sources, providing reports and recommendations.
* Represent the agency externally to stakeholders.
* Supervise and evaluate social services to improve efficiency, ensure compliance, and meet performance targets.
* Identify staff development opportunities and succession plans.
* Assist the CEO in strategic planning and serve as a trusted advisor.
* Support Board of Directors operations and effectiveness.


Qualifications And Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field required; MBA or related master’s preferred. A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in relevant sectors is required, with a strong background in nonprofit management, governance, fundraising, and community engagement. The candidate should demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, political acumen, excellent communication, and cultural competency.

* Build and maintain strategic partnerships.
* Establish rapport with leadership, staff, and community members.
* Exercise political astuteness and manage multiple priorities.
* Demonstrate negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Knowledge of government funding requirements.
* Manage diverse workforce and clientele effectively.
* Work independently with sound judgment and handle sensitive matters discreetly.
* Proficiency in internet, cloud software, and Microsoft Office Suite.


Working Conditions and Requirements:

* On-site work required; virtual work not an option.
* Perform essential functions safely and in compliance with standards.
* Clear communication via phone, in person, and virtual tools.
* Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 15 pounds.
* Meet vision and mobility requirements.
* Occasional travel within the region, including overnight stays.

Our recent $3.5 million renovation enhances our headquarters in Boothwyn, PA, with additional services at six other locations throughout Delaware County.
