Head of Sales, Marketing and Development (Maternity Cover) – Woking Theatres & Cinema
Reporting to the Venue Director, you will be responsible for driving ticket sales and revenue across Woking Theatre, Rhoda McGaw Theatre and Nova Cinema. You will lead the venue’s Marketing, Communications and Ticketing teams, collaborating with ATG Entertainment departments and supporting the re‑brand and capital programme.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the strategy for all venue marketing campaigns, leveraging audience insights and Central Marketing support.
* Lead the Mar‑Coms team to deliver campaigns that increase awareness, ticket sales and ATG revenue.
* Develop on‑off line media and communications strategy to raise the venue’s profile in the community.
* Act as the primary Mar‑Coms lead for Producers and agencies.
* Oversee social media channels with the Communications Manager to ensure healthy growth and engagement metrics.
* Maintain sponsorship goals, collaborating with the wider team to promote the venue to local and regional businesses.
* Coordinate with Revenue Management to evaluate sales performance and implement initiatives to improve occupancy and ATP.
* Manage marketing, ticketing and data reporting for Nova Cinema using Vivenu.
* Forecast sales and revenue targets in partnership with the Venue Director, ensuring delivery of agreed targets and budgets.
* Partner with ATG’s Data & CRM teams to identify under‑represented audience groups and develop strategies to address them.
* Identify and nurture relationships with traditional media, online channels and local influencers to broaden the venue’s reach.
* Ensure the team adheres to ATG briefing, reporting, and other key processes, fostering a culture of marketing effectiveness.
* Line‑manage, develop and motivate staff in line with ATG values, providing support to the Communications Manager when needed.
* Engage with ATG’s Account Director/Managers and other Central teams to ensure timely management processes.
* Build collaborative relationships with other venues for marketing partnerships and cross‑promotional activities.
* Maintain regular contact with Revenue Management and Ticketing teams to discuss dynamic pricing, discounting, allocation and promotion strategies.
* Liaise with the ATG Programming team when planning and launching events and seasons.
* Perform any other duties reasonably requested.
Qualifications
* Inspirational and persuasive leader with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to secure the trust of producers and clients.
* Highly numerate and analytical, with strong sales, audience data and budget management skills.
* Experience managing complex creative campaigns, from idea generation through to evaluation.
* Marketing and communications practitioner with a curiosity for new approaches and an appetite for innovation.
* Detail‑oriented, ensuring high quality and marketing excellence in all work.
* Team player who collaborates professionally with ATG departments and external stakeholders.
