Rate of Pay: £14.99- £19.51 per hour
Summary:
As a Personal Advisor for the 18+ Care Leavers Service at Birmingham Childrens Trust, you will play a vital role in fulfilling the Trusts vision: "Working Together to make Birmingham the greatest city to grow up in". You will provide essential support to young people transitioning from care to independent adulthood, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to achieve their best.
Responsibilities:
* Directly work with allocated young people, ensuring all assessments, interventions, and casework recording are completed.
* Coordinate and complete pathway plans in consultation with young people, social workers, carers, and partner agencies.
* Advise young people on budgeting, financial accountability, and securing education, training, or employment (ETE) opportunities.
* Develop strong relationships with family, carers, and various agencies, including housing, police, probation, health, and the DWP.
* Maintain secure and accurate electronic and paper case records, reports, and assessments.
* Contribute to the development of the 18+ service by participating in working parties and training programmes.
Essentials:
* A willingness to undergo appropriate training as directed, including achieving NVQ Level 3.
* Participation in regular supervision sessions and any training deemed appropriate for the evolution of the role
* Substantial experience working with children and young people up to age 21 (or 25 if in higher education) in a professional or voluntary setting.
* Proven experience in being directly responsible for assisting young people and achieving successful outcomes under supervision.
* Experience with interagency work involving young people who are at risk, homeless, or have been in care
