Residential Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home Location: Kirkham, Lancashire Salary: From £35,585 per year (including one sleep-in per week) £85 per additional sleep-in Hours: Full-time, 42 hours per week sleep-ins Contract: Permanent Overview RJS Resourcing are supporting a reputable children’s residential care provider in Kirkham, Lancashire, in the recruitment of a Residential Team Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced childcare professional looking to step into a key leadership position where they can help shape a stable, nurturing and supportive environment for young people. The Role As a Residential Team Leader, you’ll lead a small team in providing high-quality, trauma-informed care to young people. You’ll take responsibility for shift management, staff supervision, and ensuring all aspects of daily care and compliance are delivered to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and motivate the care team during shifts, ensuring consistency and professionalism. * Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times. * Act as a key worker and contribute to individual care plans and reports. * Support young people with routines, education, activities and appointments. * Model positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques. * Conduct staff supervisions and contribute to team training and development. * Maintain accurate records and support with audits and inspections. * Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals. * Participate in on-call and sleep-in duties as part of a rota. Requirements * Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Workforce or Health & Social Care (minimum). * At least 2 years’ experience working with young people in a residential setting. * Minimum 1 year’s experience in a senior or leadership role. * Confident understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted and care regulations. * Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. * Full UK driving licence required.
