My client is looking for a Legal Cashier to join their growing team in Brighton, East Sussex.
You’ll ensure the smooth day-to-day running of financial operations, maintaining compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules and supporting the wider team. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organised, and eager to take ownership of their work within a progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Process client and office account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules.
• Monitor and allocate daily client funds (CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments).
• Manage billing, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations.
• Support credit control and accounts payable functions.
• Post expenses such as fees and travel costs.
• Handle Infotrack and Land Registry invoices.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with VAT returns and support year-end processes.
• Perform general administrative duties including filing and record maintenance.
• Provide general finance administration support to the team.
About You
• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a finance/accounts role.
• Experience in a law firm is essential
• Working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
• Proficient in Excel and general IT systems.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisation.
• Strong communication skills with a proactive and reliable attitude.
