The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an Employment Associate or Senior Associate (ideally 4-9 PQE, although strong candidates outside this range may also be considered) to join a market-leading Employment team in London.
The role offers the opportunity to advise a varied client base including financial services firms, media and sports businesses, visitor attractions, schools, universities, charities, and high-profile individuals.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Advising employer clients on day-to-day HR issues, including contracts, policies, grievances, disciplinaries, redundancies, and TUPE.
2. Advising senior executives, partners, and other individuals on negotiating exits, restrictive covenants, and employment disputes.
3. Running Employment Tribunal claims and working with Partners on complex High Court employee competition matters such as team moves and injunctive relief.
4. Supporting corporate and commercial teams on employment issues.
5. Safeguarding work within the education and sports sectors.
6. Playing an active role in business development, including writing thought leadership content, delivering training sessions, and attending client and intermediary events.
The Ideal Candidate:
7. A qualified solicitor with strong experience in employment law from a leading City or mid-sized commercial practice.
8. Demonstrable experience advising both employer clients and senior executives across a broad range of sectors.
9. A confident communicator with excellent drafting and advisory skills.
10. Ability to manage a busy caseload with autonomy, while working closely with Partners and the wider team.
11. A proactive, collaborative team player with enthusiasm for marketing and business development.
12. Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 degree).
