Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trauma and Specialist Surgical T&O, Breast, Vascular and Urology Management Team as an Assistant Operations Manager.
The post holder will work closely with the Operational and Clinical Leads to support day-to-day operational management and to ensure delivery of the centre’s strategic and operational objectives, in line with the Operational Delivery Plan.
The post demands a proactive approach to support the service by being adaptable, having excellent communication skills, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
The individual will be a key contributor to the overall operational, workforce and finance performance and strategy of the department, working closely with colleagues in the wider division.
Main Duties of the Job
* To manage and maintain performance management systems to support delivery of the Centre’s Operational Delivery Plan and Accountability Agreement.
* Through the analysis and interpretation of a wide range of complex information, to continuously monitor clinical and financial performance within the Centre.
* To ensure that all information relating to the activity of the Centre is recorded accurately and in a timely manner to enable performance to be continuously monitored.
* To work closely with colleagues in the Finance, Performance Management, Corporate Nursing and HR functions to ensure that relevant and accurate information regarding the Centre’s activity and performance is available.
* To ensure that relevant information on activity and performance is disseminated as appropriate throughout the Centre to support effective decision‑making.
* To highlight areas of concern, prepare and present options for improvement and support the implementation of an agreed plan.
