About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Network Test and Automation Engineer to work for our client within the telecoms sector. This role can be carried out remotely or in Bradford. Our client is seeking a talented network test and automation engineer to join their diverse and high performing team. The ideal candidate will be professional, driven with a customer focus and be delivery orientated. The client is specifically looking for someone with a desire to learn and an agile and adaptable mindset. Responsibilities Create test plans and test cases based on specifications/requirements from the project team Responsible for executing tests including various types of testing such as system, regression, and performance testing Analyse and document software defects, and collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot and fix issues Follow agile process established in the team and make use of JIRA/Confluence to record test and test results Strong knowledge of Cisco devices and networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) About You Requirements Minimum of 5 years experience in network testing, with a docus on SD-WAN technologies Strong knowledge of Cisco devices and networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) In-depth understanding of L2/L3 protocols and their implementation (CoS/QoS, TACACs, SNMP, FTP, SSH, NTP, ACLs, layer 2 like CPE/NTU device configuration & management) Experience with traffic generation tools such as IXIA and Spirent Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell for developing automation scripts Strong knowledge of scripting bash/python/vbscript Solid understanding of programming concepts like functions, loops, variables Software build experience/knowledge of software frameworks with Python and Java Experience of developing and working with Restful APIs to pull and push data Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing Experience with Jira and Confluence for managing test cases, tracking issues, and documenting processes Good understanding of Agile processes and experience working in Agile teams Solid understanding of defect investigation and management and documentation (process updates, test plans, test results, config documents etc.) About Us Why join us Career coaching, mentoring and access to upskilling throughout your entire FDM career Assignments with global companies and opportunities to work abroad Opportunity to re-skill and up-skill into new areas, develop non-linear career paths and build a skillset within your field Annual leave and work-place pension About FDM We are a business and technology consultancy and one of the UKs leading employers, recruiting the brightest talent to become the innovators of tomorrow.
