Location: Southwest and Wales – Project Delivery Team
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Telecoms Supervisor to join our Project Delivery Team in Southwest and Wales. This role involves overseeing all aspects of telecoms engineering within project delivery, including on-site installation, faulting, testing, and commissioning. You will manage site teams, ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to client specifications, and provide technical leadership on telecoms systems.
Key Responsibilities
As a Telecoms Supervisor, you will:
• Report to Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Heads of Department.
• Provide daily progress updates to management.
• Supervise day-to-day site operations.
• Liaise with other departments, contractors and subcontractors to support project delivery.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings.
• Deliver Toolbox Talks and monitor installation progress.
• Ensure installations meet client requirements and specifications.
• Assist Project Managers with material and plant procurement.
• Uphold Health & Safety standards for direct and subcontracted staff.
• Build and maintain client relationships through reliable and efficient project delivery.
• Support the production of O&M manuals.
• Brief Health & Safety documentation (RAMS, WPPs, TBS).
• Identify customer requirements and research appropriate solutions.
• Work to Network Rail, British and European industry standards.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge and experience in:
• CCTV systems
• Customer Information Systems (CIS)
• VOIP solutions
• Networking (IP-based telecoms systems, switches, routers, etc.)
• PA systems
• Rail telecoms or railway project delivery experience (advantageous but not essential)
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• ECS accreditation.
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
• Proven background in telecoms installation, faulting, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience supervising site teams or leading project delivery operations.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Commitment to Health & Safety best practice.
