About You
* Able to operate in a fast paced and transforming business. Able to contribute to the establishment of new processes that strike the appropriate balance between control, efficiency, simplicity and transparency.
* Extensive experience in internal auditing, risk management, or a related field. Familiarity with auditing standards and techniques.
* In-depth knowledge of internal auditing standards, principles and best practices.
* Strong understanding of internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify risks and evaluate controls effectively.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
* Proficiency in using relevant software and data analysis tools including Microsoft Office applications and Visio.
* Ability to use a flexible and "common sense" approach with an ability to build and successfully maintain relationships across the business, together with a "can do" attitude to overcoming potential challenges.
* Ethical conduct and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

About the Role
To work alongside our existing Senior Internal Audit & Assurance Manager as apart off our Business Risk team to assess the effectiveness of the business' internal controls, risk management processes, and governance procedures.
To be responsible for evaluating and monitoring the business' operations across key Head Office functions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
To provide independent and objective assurance to management and the board of directors on the adequacy and effectiveness of the business's internal controls across key Head Office functions.
Key Responsibilities -
Strategy
* Liaise with the existing Senior Internal Audit & Assurance Manager on the development the internal audit strategy, policies, and procedures in alignment with the business' objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Risk Assessment and Audit Planning
* Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and evaluate key risks faced by key head office functions, including Sourcing, Buying and Merchandising, Human Resources, IT, Marketing, E-com, Corporate Procurement and Imports.
* Develop an annual risk-based internal audit plan based on those risk assessments, ensuring coverage of significant areas and critical processes. Determine the scope, objectives, and methodologies for each audit engagement.
* Coordinate with our existing Senior Internal Audit & Assurance Manager, management and other stakeholders to ensure adequate understanding of audit objectives and priorities.
Internal Controls and Compliance
* Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization's internal controls, including financial, operational, and compliance controls in relation to key head office functions.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
* Identify control deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement to mitigate risks
Audit Execution and Reporting
* Execute audit procedures, which may include conducting interviews, reviewing documents and records, analysing data, and performing testing of controls. Document findings and ensure that work papers are properly maintained.
* Prepare clear and concise audit reports summarizing audit findings, recommendations, and management responses. Present audit results to management and the audit committee. Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
Compliance Monitoring
* Monitor the head office function's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Stay updated on regulatory changes and emerging risks to ensure ongoing compliance.
Stakeholder Management
* Foster strong relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders;
* Collaborate with our existing Senior Internal Audit & Assurance Manager and other departments to facilitate effective risk management and internal controls across the business.
* Act as a trusted advisor to the business areas that you work with, providing guidance and expertise.
Continuous Improvement
* Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to internal auditing
* Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and automation within the Legal & Risk Team.
* Promote a culture of culture of continuous learning and development within the Legal & Risk Team.
