Cloud Platform Engineer (Google Cloud/GAE) - Glasgow - 6+ Month Contract (Inside IR35)

IR35: Up to £520 Inside IR35
We're looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with strong Google Cloud expertise to join a major financial services technology environment in Glasgow. This is a 6+ month contract role working 5 days per week onsite, ideal for someone who enjoys designing and delivering scalable cloud platforms in complex enterprise environments.
Working within a high-performing engineering team, you'll play a key role in building and evolving Google Cloud-based platforms, integrating cloud and on-prem infrastructure while ensuring security, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, test, and deploy cloud platform and infrastructure solutions
* Develop and validate cloud architecture proof-of-concepts
* Integrate cloud and non-cloud infrastructure environments
* Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams
* Contribute to key technical decisions across multiple teams
* Assess and improve cloud architecture performance and security
* Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
Essential Skills
* Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) IS A MUST
* Advanced expertise in Google App Engine (GAE)
* Cloud infrastructure and cloud platform architecture
* Experience designing and deploying enterprise cloud platforms
