Payroll & Time Administrator

A pivotal role for someone who thrives on accuracy, organisation, and supporting people.

Role Overview

The Payroll & Time Administrator plays a central role in ensuring the smooth and accurate management of time, attendance, and payroll‑critical data. This position is responsible for maintaining the local time and attendance system, ensuring precise recording of employee hours, and supporting managers and employees with all time‑related queries.

The ideal candidate brings exceptional attention to detail, strong administrative capability, and a solid understanding of payroll processes. They will coordinate monthly payroll inputs, ensure strict adherence to payroll deadlines, and act as the primary point of contact for all time and attendance matters, working closely with managers, employees, and the HR team.

Key Responsibilities

System & Data Management

Administers and maintains the company's time and attendance system (Google Appsheet).
Ensures accurate and timely entry of employee hours, overtime, sickness, holidays, and all other leave types.
Manages weekly and monthly data uploads, including manual adjustments and payroll input sheets.

Support & Communication

Serves as the first point of contact for all time and attendance queries from employees, managers, and HR.
Provides clear, professional guidance to resolve issues promptly.
Oversees the administration of all leave types, including annual leave, sick leave, parental leave, and authorised absences.

Reporting & Compliance

Produces weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc reports for payroll processing, management review, and HR analysis.
Investigates and resolves system error or warning messages to maintain data accuracy.
Completes new hire documentation and supports broader HR administrative tasks as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll administration or similar data‑focused role.
Ability to adapt to fast‑paced change with resilience and a positive, can‑do attitude.
Strong proficiency with time and attendance systems and Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple deadlines.
Proactive problem‑solving skills to address system and data issues.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
Experience working with medium to high‑volume data (500+ entries).

Desirable

Experience using HRIS platforms.
