Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments of clients, including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members, and others involved in the clients' care under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving psychological treatment and/or management of clients' problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist in in-patient/residential settings.
Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups or clinical projects.
Work with other staff to assess or support service users in community or inpatient settings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and reviews.
Assist in developing a psychologically based framework of understanding and care for all clients of the service across all settings.
Attend and contribute to appropriate multidisciplinary meetings.
Maintain computer literacy for note-taking and data collection.
Gain relevant clinical experience for setting.
Demonstrate emotional resilience and awareness appropriate for the population and setting.
Assist in designing and implementing service development projects under supervision.
Attend meetings for planning and discussing service developments.
There are no management responsibilities for other team members.
Be accountable to the local lead Principal Clinical Psychologist and ultimately the Head of Psychological Therapies.
Line management via Modern Matron and Ward Manager.
Share performance accountability between professional and line management.
Possess relevant clinical experience; role requires some autonomy under supervision.
Participate in research projects as appropriate, requiring postgraduate status.
Develop and manage positive working relationships.
Maintain report writing and documentation as per postgraduate standards.
Participate in one evening group per week, with shift times from 12-8 for that day.
